Billy Barnes LA - 1962 Los Angeles Cast (Limited Edition) Includes Bonus Numbers
Composer: Billy Barnes
Lyricist: Billy Barnes

Price: $18.95

Product Description
Cleaned up from 1994 release this CD adds 5 songs from a live Studio One nightclub act Billy did with Marvin Laird. Billy Barnes LA starred Joyce Jameson, Ken Barry, and Marilyn Mason!

The supremely talented Billy Barnes wrote and composed this musical tribute to the City of the Angels, a not quite so succesful production as "Billy Barnes People". Nevertheless, the lyrics are witty and the music a delight. It is a format which really doesn't exist these days, although Lypsinka has used some of the material in his/her shows. Musical Revues were a staple of Broadway and London forty years ago, and it is good that recordings such as this are made available. Billy Barnes is best known for his song "Have I Stayed Too Long at the Fair" which was later recorded by Barbra Steisand, but this CD gives a glimpse of his enormous if rather overlooked talents. For fans of musical theater and popular song, this is an excellent addition to personal libraries, and which bears listening to over and over again.
