Elie Siegmeister (Jan. 15, 1909-Mar. 10, 1991) was, in the words of Robert Sherman,
"one of our giants." The composer of 9 operas, 9 symphonies, ballets, chamber works,
and over 100 songs, he was also the inspiring teacher of numerous composers. Songs by Elie Siegmeister that could have been on Broadway (although only #1 actually was) performed by Helene Williams, Lars Woodul and The Metropolitan Philharmonic Chorus, conducted from the piano by Leonard Lehrman.
